Hey, its been a while and I haven't heard anything from IDW about my Mosaic, so I'm gonna put it up on here anyways, I'm sure it'll still be published, but its just taking time:)
But hey, here it is for you all to see.

Working Hard (On more Transformers...)
I've been drawing lots of Transformers recently, which is never a bad thing.
For those who know me, they know I'm a toy collector, and now that Marvel Legends figures have more or less disappeared, I'm now solely a Transformers collector, and I have like 100 of the little blighters to show for it, so its definitely more than a nostalgia kick.
Anyways, I've drawn, inked coloured and lettered a 1 page Transformers comic (written by Mario Coleman of Apocalypse Comics) for IDW's "Transformers: Mosaics" series, which I'll put up on here at some point in the future, maybe once its been published online by IDW.
But, all is not lost, Here is a Bruticus commission I've done, also for Mario, to display in his Comic Shop. This commission was done for the princely sum of (Drum Roll Please...) A 1985 Transformers Video. Yeah, a VIDEO. Thats how much of a Transformers fan I am, I create artwork that takes 2 days for a piece of redundant technology I can't use. Good Times!
On the Transformers front, I found some line art, drawn by the awesome Casey Coller, and decided to try my hand at some realistic (Well, comic style realism) colour and tone, and I think the results are pretty good.
Credit goes to Casey Coller of IDW comics for the awesome line work!

As usual, comments are greatly appreciated!

New Drawings Galore!
Hey, I've been working on some new pieces, so thought I'd post them up here for you to check out.
Firstly, Here's Death's Head, a character I wasn't really too familiar with, and isn't strictly speaking a Transformers character, but has been featured in Transformers comics of the past. This drawing was a semi-commission by noted comic artist Simon Williams (Well, he asked me to do it and I did...:P).
And, here is Transformers Hot Rod. My favourite Transformers character of all time, who I'd never really had a shot at drawing before, but think I'll be drawing a lot more from now on:) I tried to give him an innocent look and a cheeky grin to show that he is immature, yet cocky and head-strong.
So, feel free to leave comments and stuff!
Sam.

New stuff :P
Auto Assembly 2009 has been and gone, and has inspired me more than ever, so I'm in the process of working on some Transformers themed comics:)
Its been a while since I've done a full page comic and not just a 3-4 panel strip, so its going to be quite fun! Plus I get to draw Transformers and hot chicks, which is always good:)
Here's a drawing of Powerglide I drew whilst at Auto Assembly, Which I scanned and coloured using Photoshop.

Comments welcome:)

WWF Commercial... The Home Stretch...
Hey, just a little update for you,
My WWF commercial is 60% done now, with just the rendering and compositing left to do, so I thought I'd give you guys a little teaser of what the final film will look like.
I've done some simple still renders of a scene from the commercial, so you can get a feel for how the final thing will look.
Here's a render from a different angle that won't be seen on the final piece, but just to show the flat, pop-up look of the film.
And finally, a shot of the book itself, from the opening of the commercial.
So, if anyone actually reads this, please let me know what you think!
Peace,
Sam.

WWF Concept stuffs...
I've been working hard on this WWF commercial I keep talking about, and I've produced some test renders of my 3D backgrounds I thought you guys would get a kick out of seeing.
Here are some rough concepts of my Ocean scene and my African Plains scene. The African scene is gonna have trees inserted into it eventually.
I'm not the best with 3DStudio Max, but I like using it, so heres some simple environment tests I put together.
Its my first proper use of Bump-Mapping too, and I think I'm kind of mixed on the results.
Crits welcome.

2D/3D Compositing...
Hey, me again.
Been working on compositing 2D flash animated characters into 3DStudio Max, so thought I'd share some of my results with you nice folks.
Here is a test render I've done, in the actual animation, the blue monster is on a repeating walk cycle, and the water shimmers and flows along a current, with numerous reflections and stuff going on.
I'm testing as I'm including this kind of 3D/2D composition for the WWF TV commercial I mentioned in a previous post.
Credits: Blue Monster walk cycle - Sam "FargelEX" Miller.
Rest: Me.

The Rasslin' Business...
Hey, thought I'd share this with you.
I was recently commissioned to create an entrance way for a UK Wrestling promotion, and unfortunately, I was unavailable to attend the debut of my handywork, due to other working commitments.
So, using the power of imagination, a nice little program called 3D Studio Max and very limited 3D modeling skills, I made my own little version, so I could see what it might look like.

Entrance way, Wrestling Ring, flooring, room and lighting all done (poorly) by me.
Crits very welcome.

Who Watches the Watchmen?
Well, last night, I did.
It was my girlfriends birthday, and as we're both fans of the book (With me being a HUGE fan), it seemed serendipitous that one our personal all-time must see movies would fall on such a date. Lucky us. So after making an hour drive in just under 20 minutes (Due to an until last night unknown bypass), buying up our popcorn and Ice Blast slushies, we hit the theater, and for 2 1/2 hours, I was in pure comic book heaven.
As for the flick, I'm not going to go in to anything much, as I don't want to spoil anything for those interested in seeing it, but I'll just say this:
SEEITSEEITSEEITSEEITSEEITSEEITSEEITSEEITSEEITSEEIT x infinity.
I'll being seeing it a few more times too.
The DVD is released in July, with 3 versions rumoured. July is going to be an expensive month...

RAWR...
Hey!
I've been working on some concept stuff for a TV commercial for the WWF (World Wildlife Fund), and I thought I'd share some of it with you.
Its about protecting endangered species and is supposed to look like a child has drawn it, using wax crayons.
Here is a rough colour and style test I performed based on a Tiger character which will be in the final commercial.
And feedback is more than welcome, in fact, its encouraged:)

Drawing Naked Chicks...
I decided to show you guys (all 2 of you) that I'm not just a 1 trick pony, but I can *actually* draw as well.
So, here is a picture I drew this morning in my life drawing class, hope you enjoy it:)
I gotta say, there isn't a bad thing I can think of about drawing a naked girl...:P
More new stuff coming later.

When Boredom Strikes...
Welcome to the Blog!
Hey, and welcome to my blog, about my artwork, my life and, well, me.
I've been toying for ages with the idea of setting up one of these things, but didn't for various reasons (E.G. No-one would want to read anything written by me or want to look at my crappy scribbles) But hey, its here now. So rejoice.
When I get free time, in between my various work assignments, I'll be popping on here to give you guys a taste of what I can do, and letting you comment on my work, let me know what you think.
Cheers,
Sam.
